France - Canal du Midi to Hauteford

We seemed to keep finding links with the Canal du Midi. This is the Obelisk erected by Riquet's descendents in the mid 1800s to commemorate his achievements. It is at Naurouze which is the watershed between the Atlantic and the Mediterranean at 190m above sea level. The obelisk is a short walk from the park through magnificent cedar and plane trees.
